Form 4 Chapter 5 - Chemical Bonds

A relatively short chapter, usually asked in Paper 2 Section B/C.

Definitions:
Ionic compound - Chemical compound formed by the process of releasing and gaining electrons between metals and non-metals.
Covalent compound - Chemical compound formed by the sharing of electrons by a non-metal with a non-metal.
Ionic bond - A strong bond formed when positive ions and negative ions are attracted by the electrostatic forces.
Covalent bond - A weak bond formed when electrons are attracted by the Van der Waals' forces.

How to answer questions about...
Formation of ionic compounds:
- list the electron configuration
- electron valence
- needs to gain/lose electron to form an octet structure
- atom will donate/take electrons to form an octet structure
- valence electron of atom is X, so atom needs to gain/lose electrons to form an octet structure
- when Y atom loses/gains X electrons, it will form an ion in the charge of +/- X (Repeat for other element)
- the + ion and the - ion charge are attracted to each other and form an electrostatic forces
- this will form an ionic bond between ions and form Z (name the compound)
- draw the diagram

Formation of covalent compounds:
- list the electron configuration
- each X atom needs Y electrons to form an octet structure
- non-metal - each X atom will share Y pair of electrons with another X atom
- this will form a Van der Waals' force and later a single/double covalent bond
- draw the diagram

Properties of ionic compounds:
- dissolves in water (not all)
- does not dissolve in organic solvent
- conducts electricity in molten or aqueous solution
--> in ionic compounds, when in molten or aqueous solution, all ions are moving freely, hence it conducts electricity.
- all ionic compounds have a very high m.p & b.p
--> when +ve and -ve charge attracts each other, this forms a strong bond (electrostatic forces)
--> in an ionic compound there is a strong electrostatic force between the +ve and -ve ions
--> a lot of heat and energy is needed to weaken the forces

Properties of covalent compounds:
- dissolves in organic solvent
- does not dissolve in water
- all covalent compounds have a very low m.p & b.p
--> in covalent compounds, there is a very weak VdW force between +ve and -ve ions
--> little heat and energy is needed to weaken the forces
- all covalent compounds do not conduct electricity in any state
--> in covalent compounds no ions exist because all covalent compounds are molecules

Reactions:
1) metal oxide + water --> basic solution
2) non-metal oxide + water --> acidic solution
3) oxide + acidic/basic solution will produce different results, as seen below.
- metal oxide + acid --> salt + water
- metal oxide + base --> no reaction
- non-metal oxide + acid --> no reaction
- non-metal oxide + base --> salt + water
- amphoteric + acid --> salt + water

- compounds of transition metals contains more than one oxidation number
Example: Iron(II) ions, Iron(III) ions, Copper(I) ions, Copper(II) ions.

The atomic size does not increase as we move from the left to the right of the periodical table. (This is a common error made by students.)
- proton number increases

- this pulls the external shell of electrons closer to the nucleus, making the size of the atom smaller.

2. m.p + b.p
* Metal > Gas
- Metals have a stronger bond between atoms - more heat needed to break the bonds
- Gases have a weaker bond between atoms - less heat needed compared to metals

3. Density
* Decreases from left to right
- Metals - atoms are arranged closely to each other (atomic radius increases) making it more dense
- Gases - atoms move around freely due to a weak VW, making it less dense compared to metals

I wonder what to call this room...a theatre room? There's not much here....only a projector, screen, PS3, XBox, some sound system......

I'm sure some of you would rather spend time playing 'Chor Dai Dee' aka Big2 (you know, the one where the 2 of spades is the biggest...) instead of studying. Just a short paragraph to show that I'm still alive and kicking. I'll be leaving for Perth on the 3rd for a 3-year Actuarial Science course at Curtin University of Technology (because I want to!) Will be staying at my aunt's house there, so expect some photos of the house sometime soon.

Back from my holiday in Australia, eventually there's nothing much to do there other than TV, shopping and golfing. I'll try to get some photos from my uncle (he owns a photo shop).

Of course, this blog is not getting updated on a regular basis, maybe it's because I'm running out of ideas?

Here's a list of something you should look forward to if you're going to Australia:
1. Everything (almost) closes at 5.00pm except on Thursdays.
2. Garbage day is Saturday.
3. Friendly people, who just want to have a nice chat with you.
4. Good drivers (the total opposite of Malaysians)
5. A meal (KFC, McD) costs about $9 (which is about RM23). In Malaysia it costs RM10.
6. A meal is equivalent to 1.5 times of a meal in Malaysia.
7. Flies.
8. Sunday (varies) markets. Like a huge garage sale where everyone goes and tries to sell their unwanted stuff. (Books, tyres, guns??!, food, and even laptops.)
9. Golf courses. There's about 8 of them within a 30km radius of Perth.
10. Last but not least, theres the Powerball. Just get the 6 numbers right and you'll win $10,000,000! Draws every Thursdays. (I got $25.00 only.)

Currently stuck with some translation problems in an excel spreadsheet. Anyone cares to help me with translating Chinese -> English? Google translator isn't exactly reliable. (It translated some word to 'deep fried ball'.)

Finally, after 11 months of studying and studying again, the holidays have arrived! (Not for the SPM students though...) Of course, TEE results will be out sometime before Christmas, so no worries until then. Now, what are your plans for the holidays? Planning to sit at home surfing the net or trying to complete some game? Or maybe going overseas for some fun or sight-seeing?

Well, I'm going to Australia tomorrow (which is 25/11 for those who can't define tomorrow), for about two weeks (that's 14 days for those who can't count). What am I going to do there? Hmm...good question. More like playing golf (both virtual and real), watching television (it's the TV for those who failed English!), doing nothing, or maybe doing something. Quite an interesting schedule, eh?

First of all, there's the flight. Taking AirAsia, so not much entertainment other than the beverage cart, the food and the safety demonstration on the seat-belt and the life-jacket. To kill those six (estimated) hours of travelling, I plan on reading some notes and listen to some music along the way. Hopefully there's no delays (I hate delays, do you?)

Then, there's immigration, customs, baggage collection, etc.... which would take about an hour at least. This part is the boring part. Waiting in line to get your passport checked, your belongings checked, all to keep Australia safe from danger. Here's a tip: Don't mention anything that is related to terrorism (bombs, terrorists, etc.) They'll interrogate you for hours just to ensure that you're not a terrorist.

Once you exit the airport, then ...(you know what to do...I'm not telling you my whole itinerary.) How about you? Why don't you go and enjoy yourself on this bright day (if it is)?

Malaysian Studies (Again)

Sorry for the slight delay. Here are the answers for Test 2. One of these will come out in the final paper tomorrow.

1. Give two main reasons why the Malays rebelled against British rule in the nineteenth century and two main reasons why these rebellions failed.
- Dissatisfaction of rules by the British which imposed financial burden on the Malays
- Leaders lost their economic share
- Not well organized - there was no huge opposition
- Malays lacked sophisticated weapons and tactics

2. State four reasons which led the British to abandon the Malayan Union and the Introduction of the Federation of Malaya in 1948.
- opposition from Malays
- lack of support from non-Malays
- opposition from former British officials (Frank Swettenham, etc.)
- rise of Malay nationalism

3. State the economic significance of Malaya gaining independence.
- Malaya could formulate its own policies for economic development of the country for its own people
- income taxes will be transferred back to the country instead of foreign countries
- the wealth of the nation will not be siphoned off by colonial powers
- policies for the development of all sectors, instead of focusing on one sector only
- policies does not take into account whether it will affect the colonial power

4. State the four steps that were undertaken in the process for the formation of Malaysia.

- Inter-Govermental Committee

5. Briefly describe the four stages a bill goes through in the Dewan Rakyat in the process of becoming a law.
- first reading - bill introduced by minister, very brief - no debating allowed
- second reading - only debates on the policies are allowed, about the consequences and importance for the country and people
- committee stage - detailed debate, amendments are allowed
- third reading - debate on amendments made in the committee stage, approval of bill.

Necromancy?

Looks like I have just resurrected from the dead, eh?
Well, this blog is going to be a bit more active from now on since the TEE examinations are finally over (fanfare, trumpets, and 'Merdeka' heard in the background). All the papers were difficult compared to the previous years, and I found out I had 1 (or 10) mistakes at least in each paper. But, who wants to recollect their memories on these?

All good news will have to eventually come to an end. I should be celebrating now that TEE is over, but....(You-know-who) suddenly appears and says you have to attend class on Wed, Thurs and the Malaysian Studies is on Friday. Bingo! Perfect way to wrap up our TEE celebrations. Looks like I can't relax just yet (who can?), back to studying mode until this Friday 4.00pm.

But why on earth do we have to study this subject? So that we can respect the government etc etc...? The entire syllabus in about unity, harmony, the Government (not the Opposition), the achievements of each govt. commission (not the failures), and many more. Similarly to Sejarah, we have to learn about our 'heroes' such as Dol Said, Rentap, Mat Salleh, and the average person who walks around wielding swords (keris?). However, at least I'm learning this subject in English, so I can understand more about UN, Govt Depts, Independence (again and again), and the Parti Perikatan (I wonder why this party only?). This is...of course...Malaysian Studies, so no WWII action or any other interesting stuff in the syllabus.

However, this is just a simple rant. I may be wrong, or maybe right. This is my opinion, so this has nothing to do with criticising the government or any other system.

The TEE Approaches...

Barely ten days left until the TEE starts (not tea, mind you, but TEE = Tertiary Entrance Examinations). Nothing much to do now but to start doing past year's papers, if there is time. Expect no blog posts during this duration as I have to concentrate on revising for the exams. I may be on MSN, but not to chat.

Provided are some analysis of the past year TEE papers compared to my college's (MCKL's) Mock TEE papers.

1. Applicable Maths
Mock TEE Results : 77%, with not enough time to complete approximately 3 questions, causing me to lose a few marks there.
TEE 2007 Paper: 75%, completed the paper with about 40 minutes extra. This extra time is important to check the answers. Questions are more difficult especially at the last part.

Conclusion: Slightly more difficult than the Mock TEE. (Scale marks down by about 5%.)

2. Physics
Mock TEE Results: 74%, with a lot of careless mistakes here and there. Barely enough time, with only 2 minutes to check.
TEE 2007 Paper: ??%, completed the paper with only 10 minutes extra. Many confusing questions, requiring a good grasp of the topic in order to answer accurately. Not sure about the delegation of marks for each question, but be sure to have as many points as possible.

Conclusion: Equal to the Mock TEE, but more estimation questions included and longer answers required. (No scaling needed.)

3. Information Systems
Mock TEE Results: 81%, having done badly in Section A (8/15), I'm sure there were marks given here and there eventhough I felt my answers were insufficient. That explains the 81%.
TEE 2001 Paper: ??%, quite simple if you understand the fact. Many similar answers in Section A tends to confuse students, and Section B & C is easy if you know your facts. ER Diagrams and DFDs (LDFDs too) may be confusing, so mark those points which are relevant to make it easier.

Conclusion: TEE is definitely much more difficult compared to the Mock TEE. (Scale marks down by about 15%.)

4. Accounting
Mock TEE Results: 74%, only a 12 mark essay question and no Analysis and Interpretation. No questions about concepts makes this paper easy. Only the 'Shares Premium' account confused us (none of us tried any questions about it yet...), and some slight careless mistakes on depreciation.
TEE 2007 Paper: ??%, done very badly. Requires extensive calculation and it is very easy to miss out one key information, making the balance incorrect. The main point is the 24-26 marks essay question, usually referring to concepts or companies. The theory part in the TEE paper is usually 70 marks, making it important. Memorisation/Understanding is needed in the concept parts and it seems to appear in every TEE paper so far.

Conclusion: TEE is much more difficult here. (Scale marks down by about 30%!)

5. English as an Additional Language/Dialect
No comment. It's generally the same difficulty as the TEE paper.

So, I wish you all good luck in your TEE this November. Study smart and stay calm.

To Aru Majutsu no Index

Well, this is the only anime that I've watched at least 3 episodes this season.

Personal Views:
The anime starts of with an interesting OP (Mami Kawada), and this may look like another Shana anime as a first impression. What made it look different is the unique plot and how the story develops at the first episode. We learn about espers, magic (a bit obvious?) and a person lying on the balcony.

Good thing about the anime is that we don't get the usual male + female type of relationship here. (Especially when Touma feeds Index sandwiches he stepped on.)

As for the second episode, we see a lot more action here...as the whole fighting scene takes about 2/3 of the anime. Who knows? This anime may be the usual one-enemy-per-episode type which we've seen in countless animes...

Anyway, the artwork and animation is excellent as usual (since it's JCStaff), so I'll wait and see how the plot unfolds in this anime.

You can get it here. I'll try to solve some of the questions, but note that I won't be 100% correct. Maybe 99.5%...
Note: Don't follow the answers provided in the 'skema', there are many wrong answers there.

Answers:
1. B - Distance is scalar.
2. B - microamperes = 10^-6
3. D - Consistency is how close the results are from each other (not the target)
4. C - Obvious, as the dots are equidistant from each other.
5. A - Displacement increases at a steady rate means uniform velocity, no displacement is zero velocity.

Today marks the start of the Mock TEE (Tertiary Entrance Examination) for Ausmat students.
The exams will last for five (5) gruelling days, and here are the remaining papers.

Applicable Mathematics
Well, it seems like 3 hours isn't enough to complete the whole paper. All was going well until question 10, then I was behind time all the way to the end.
Nothing I can do about it though, at least answering 16/20 questions and some half-done answers for Q.20 should give me enough marks to get above 50. Or maybe 60. Or 70. But definitely not 90+ (Who knows?)

English as an Additional Language/Dialect
Your typical English paper, nothing much to comment about it.

Information Systems
Let's say I took about 5 hours to read through my notes once, so that's the problem. The difficult thing about this paper is that either you know it or you don't. This is not like the paper where you write 'rubbish' in it and still get at least 1 out of 3 marks. Oh well, done what I possibly could. My prediction for this paper would be about 60+, or hopefully a 70.

Physics
No time to finish the paper. Well, I didn't know the answers for those I left blank anyway... All the notes I read just refused to come out in the paper, so there goes my marks. Last section was worth 40 marks, and I hope I can get at least 7 out of the 10 questions there correct.
Predictions: 60-75? If I'm very lucky maybe 80+.

Accounting
Easier than expected, but that doesn't mean that you can score easily here....either you get it right, or you don't. So, my predictions: 80+ if I'm lucky, <20 if I'm very unlucky...

Next paper: It's over!

Ar & Mr (Relative Atomic Mass and Relative Molecular Mass):

History of Ar (Paper 1, not likely in Paper 2)
1. Hydrogen atom used - not suitable
- Average Ar more than 1 unit (3 isotopes of hydrogen)
- Not many elements react with hydrogen

2. Oxygen atom used - not suitable
- Two scales existed (Some used oxygen-16 isotope, others used the averages of the isotopes)

Molecular Formula

To calculate molecular formula:
1. Follow steps 1-4 for calculating empirical formula

3. Find x, then multiply x into the empirical formula

*Use this experiment if the metal is below hydrogen in the reactivity series.

- heating tube - dry hydrogen gas (you may have to display the process to produce hydrogen gas)
- hydrogen gas that exits the tube is lighted
- heating, cooling and weighing process is repeated

How to produce dry hydrogen gas:
Acid + Metal ---> Salt + Hydrogen
Eg. 2HCl + Zn ---> ZnCl2 + H2
- Pass the hydrogen gas through anhydrous calcium chloride or concentrated sulphuric acid to absorb the moisture (to obtain dry hydrogen gas).

Precaution:
There should be a continuous flow of hydrogen to prevent air from entering the tube and reacting with the metal to form metal oxide again.

I will just focus on some of the parts. (Disclaimer: I am not predicting which questions will come out in SPM. You can copy & print out the notes below for easier reading/preparation for SPM.)

Experiment to investigate the kinetic theory of matter (Paper 1, Paper 3):

1) Diffusion in a gas - Liquid bromine, gas jar, gas jar cover

2) Diffusion in a liquid - Water, potassium permanganate crystals, petri dish

Beginner's Guide to QBASIC Part 4

Since I managed to avoid a sub-10 marks in my test *cough*, here are some more QBASIC notes. (Yes, I knew 1-2 sub-questions only.)

The final aspect of programming is selection. This means the computer is given a condition in which the value you input into the program will change the results.
The most commonly used command is If-Then-Else.

Here are some examples:

CLS
Print "Please enter a number."
Input Y
If Y = 1 Then
- Print "Correct"
Elseif Y = 2 Then
- Print "Wrong"
Else
- Print "Try Again"
End If

Notice I placed a "-" in some of the lines. You should use the tab button instead. This is to show the use of indentations, making the code seem a bit more organized. This enables users to read the program codes much clearer (and you may lose marks if it is not indented).

Now we move on to While-Wend, which is also a part of iteration/looping.
This is used as an alternative to For-Next.
For example,

This means the word "Hello" will appear when any number other than 2 is typed in when you run the program. <> is known as 'not equal to'.

Additional info:
Notice that you only can input numbers. Trying to input letters will give you 'redo from start' in the program. You have to identify the variable and input as a string first.
For example, using the same example from above,

Print "Hello"
Print "Would you like to stop?"
Print "Enter 'Y' to stop."

Beginner's Guide to QBASIC Part 2

Part 2:
The second important aspect is iteration, which enables the program to loop instead of repeating the commands over and over again.
The first method is For-Next.

For example:

CLS
Print "(Type anything here)"
For x = 1 to 10
Print "(Type anything else here)"
Next x

This will show the word/phrase in (Type anything else here) 10 times.
This is because x will read from 1 to 10 and will print the word/phrase 10 times until x = 10.

Additional info:
From the example above, by adding this:

For x = 1 to 10 step 2
Print "...."
...

The program will show the text 5 times as it jumps for each 2nd number in the for-next sequence. Likewise, step 2 means to make increments of 2. E.g. 1,3,5,7,9 -> 5 times.

Adding a Print x after Print "(Type anything else here)" but before Next x will show the number/value that x carries, which in this case, will show the numbers 1 to 10.

Beginner's Guide to QBASIC Part 1

Since some people was lazy to copy down some notes, here's a guide on QBASIC, a programming software. Well, it looks like MS-DOS from far (or near).
Disclaimer: I am posting this as exactly what I learned from someone. If you feel that it is incorrect, feel free to point out the error to me and I'll rectify it. Most probably I'll ask you to teach me. (Should you still feel unsatisfied, I suggest you contact the person who taught me this, Mr. PJ <- A bit obvious, eh?)

First, programming requires three aspects and at least one is needed for the program to work. (Unless your program is too simple, and useless.)
1) Sequence
2) Iteration aka looping
3) Selection

Introduction:
CLS, Print, Input and End (Type in any case (Capital or small) and the program will still identify it as a function).
Let's start with sequence.

Now, all programs run in sequence. As in, QBASIC reads the commands from top to bottom, in sequence, unless you add any other commands that says otherwise, such as Loop.
CLS means clear screen, as in remove any text before it.
Print means show what you typed, which you show as - PRINT "Hello"
And the program shows Hello when you press F5.
Input means enter a letter/number. For example: Input x
This means what value you enter in the program will be stored in the variable x.
End is to end the program of course.

Lesson 1
Now let's get the basics first. Type in the following commands.

CLS
Print "(Type anything here)"
Input A
Print A
END

Now you should understand how the commands function in the program.

Now wasn't that fun? Let's move on to the next historic place, the office. This is one of the most unique offices in the whole world. Why you say? That's because there is no humans working here. Why, even there's no way to get to your desk. But....that's no problem to some of us.

When I say some of us I mean ghosts of course. We have a few ghosts here, one of which you can see in the picture below. His name is Mr.X, and famous for chucking people out of the building from the ground floor when they ask odd questions.

Oh, and he's smarter than your average person (or ghost), since he calls everyone else 'dumber than dumb'. Now, let's progress on to the last place, the one you've all been waiting for...the classroom! A historic place with a lot of chairs to sit on...well, too many chairs in my opinion.

Of course, you have to climb up the pile there if you want to get to your seat. Lecturers are ghosts, so don't worry about them...
Sadly, we've come to the end of our tour...I hope you enjoyed it! Too bad we didn't get to see the legendary Datin, who can eliminate any foolish people (including lecturers that let students out late) by opening her mouth. What a fearsome person/creature. A Normal Story

Some of you heard it before, but I'll say it again. This is a true *cough* story.

When I was young, I used to go to this fishing village overlooking the sea. It was a quiet place, and the only thing that intrigued me was a statue in front of the small inn I was staying in. What worried me was that the owner of the inn told me that the statue was haunted. She said a ghost would appear around the statue when it is very late at night (how does she know that??).
Since I was curious, me and a group of friends (we were only about 9 years old then) walked towards the statue at around 10 that night. It felt very chilly and I had an uncomfortable feeling as I approached the statue with my friends. We stared at the statue, and felt nervous with every passing second.

Suddenly...something happened!

The sun had risen and woke us up. What happened to the statue? It turns out that we all fell asleep at some point during the night. So, since all of us were asleep, no one could really prove anything about the statue. End of story.

Wasn't that an interesting story? I'll come out with another one next time, hope you enjoyed reading it.

The autumn season has just started in Japan. With that comes the release of more anime. Here are a few.

1. Vampire Knight Guilty

Part 2 of the Vampire Knight series. And who is that person in the background?

2. Toradora!

a.k.a. Tiger x Dragon, this anime features some comedy and romance in it.
And the lead female character is voiced by Rie Kugimiya (Shana, Nagi). Very promising cast in this anime.

3. Rosario + Vampire Capu2

No comment for this series...more vampires and more comedy? Who knows?
Seems like there's an addition to the characters here.

4. ef - a tale of melodies

Season 2/sequel of ef - a tale of memories.

First season was quite good, so how will the second season turn out?

Adaptation of the manga.

Malaysian Studies and ISA

"The teachers in High School have total control of you. They can whip, rotan,
and smack you like there's no tomorrow when you did something stupid like
forgetting to bring your name tag. No, you cannot sue a teacher because your
parents will always support your teacher. The education system will at one point
stream the children according to what theyre good at. Children who are weird or
nerdy will be streamed towards science, while those who are not nerdy enough and
are actually normal will be streamed to the arts. Those who are only good at
sports... well, who cares about them. As you can see, the Malaysian education
system is kind enough to dictate your future for you. Where else there will be
some cases where you see non-bumi people getting 7A's for their SPM finally
working as pirated vcd sellers & the so called bumi people getting their
chances to go study overseas with their single A's. "

Now what can we say about our education system? Even the government reaches out its hands to limit our syllabus to support themselves. How? Through Sejarah or Malaysian Studies.

Malaysian studies focus more on the government, and not on the opposition. They also omit the judiciary system? Why? Who knows...any further developments into this topic will cause the words "ISA" to pop out. Oh well, even Raja Petra was sent to jail today for 2 years. With no trial. Isn't that typical of our government. Hmm...what's ISA? ISA = Irrational Security Act aka Ikut Suka Aku.

Malaysian studies is somewhat similar to Sejarah. (Heck, it IS similar!) So, since most of us do not study for these subjects (such as Moral), there has been some creative answers among us students. Here are a few...

1. What are the economical significances when Malaya gained independence?
Can receive bribes as there are no more British people to watch out for.

2. List the four steps taken when a bill passes through the Dewan Rakyat.
a) Write a bill
b) Deliver the bill to Dewan Rakyat
c) Read the bill
d) Pass the bill to the next person

3. If the Chinese lived in tin mining areas and the Indians lived in rubber estates, where did the British live in?
Bungalows.

Anyway, the test itself was hard. Think of Sejarah Paper 2 SPM, after reading (not revising) for a day. Expected marks = 20/50.
I feel that I should study hard now....Maths test tomorrow.

Posting is good for your health

More pressure on me now as I struggle to finish revising the whole of Chapter 2 in Malaysian Studies (why do they have this anyway?). That's a good question. Why have Malaysian Studies?
Well, excluding the fact that 60% failed in the first test, it's something like Pendidikan Moral in SPM. Totally irrelevant (in my opinion) and teaches us how to lie.

Flashback:
For example, you see an old person crossing the road. What do you do?
If I said I would leave her alone I'll get 0 marks for that answer. But why? I'm telling the truth. Do you want me to lie???
Oh well, that's the Education System anyway...

Anyway, back to the topic. Studies have shown that posting is beneficial to your health. (Well, I studied it).
Blogging has been found to be more beneficial compared to:
1. Texas Hold-em Poker
2. Doing homework (This is true...)
3. Sleeping (Proven by many many bloggers I know that still blog at 2am.)
4. Pokemon
5. Listening to people yodelling (Obviously.)

But it is less beneficial compared to these:
1. Breathing
2. Datin
3. English lecturers (Proven as you can't blog when they talk.)
4. Doing homework (This is true as well...???)
5. Friends <-- Ah, one of the best things you appreciate in life.

And that concludes my totally random, but informational (more like misinformational) post for today. See you next time!

Whee...first post!

Finally decided to start a blog this year. Hopefully it won't die out like the countless blogs that slowly cease to exist.

Anyway, this blog will still be constantly improved (I hope...) and some relevant posts will be added soon. Will be tweaking some of the display/widgets and formatting around here during this phase.

Of course, I would love to rant about the Government, but that will most likely put me under ISA, which no one wants of course... Hence, this blog will be about various issues, such as technology, education, current affairs, anime, etc. Feel free to post on the chatbox any suggestions or improvements. Thanks for your time!
